Thank you from Ukraine

I recall my initial conversation with Hannie Riley from Wycliffe Hall in Oxford, UK, who expressed interest in supporting the development of the library at the Ukrainian Evangelical Theological Seminary in Kyiv. This discussion took place right after my presentation at the BETH (European Theological Libraries Association) conference in Cordoba (30 September – 4. October 2023). During the conference, I highlighted the numerous challenges faced by the Seminary and our library, particularly during the war-time.

Hannie suggested sending extra copies of theology books from Wycliffe Hall's library and coordinating with potential partners interested in contributing more books. These would all be shipped together to Ukraine. Hannie, with support from Christian Kim, Librarian at the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies, and Daniel Drury from the Philosophy and Theology Faculties Library (PTFL), University of Oxford, prepared boxes of books with Wycliffe Hall student volunteers. Despite the difficulties, especially during our country's time of war, we successfully arranged for the shipment. All the books reached their destination safely, with some already on the shelves, registered and available for studies and research.

We received a substantial number of new Regnum books on mission, a key focus area for expanding our collections. The Seminary's Rector, whose primary interest is in mission, was delighted to learn about the growth and enrichment of our mission collection. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hannie, her school, and all other UK partners who contribute to our development. Particularly in times of war, it is incredibly encouraging to see God's provision. Praise be to Him!
