Project Ukraine

Despite the war, the Ukrainian Evangelical Theological Seminary Library is a beacon of theological learning in Ukraine, celebrating a record-high 190 graduates in 2023, and continually striving to provide students, pastors, and scholars with the resources they need to deepen their understanding of Christian theology. However, access to theology books in English remains a challenge. This is where we come in.

전쟁중임에도 불구하고 2013년 총 190명을 졸업생을 배출하여 우클라이나에서 신학 교육의 지표가 되고 있는 우클라이나 복음 신학 학교 도서관은 신학생과 교수, 목사님과 신학학자들이 필요한 자료들을 마련하여 그들의 기독신학의 이해를 깊게하고자 계속 노력하고 있습니다.  그렇지만 영어로 된 학술서적을 구하는 것이 쉽지 않습니다.  그래서 저희 단체가 이를 돕고자 합니다. 

Securing a generous donation of £1,000 from ABTAPL (Association of British Theological and Phislophyical Libraries), we have been sending books to the UETS Library in February 2024. Currently, we have three dedicated volunteers working on this project. Their main role is to make lists of donated books to the librarian at the UETS for this selection. Then according to his choices, the boxes are carefully packed for shipment. As we have managed to secure a Ukrainian freight company we are expecting about 60 boxes of books to send with this initial fund. To continue this project, we need more financial support to cover the shipping costs.

Progress

1. 20 boxes (308 books from Wycliffe Hall, PTFL and OCMS) - dropped off at East London on 3rd Feb 24 &  arrived in Kyiv on 29th Feb 24.  
2. 4 boxes (79 books from Wycliffe Hall) - sent via a minibus on Mondy 11th March 24 & arrived on 14th March. 
3. 6 boxes (104 books from Wycliffe Hall) - sent via a minibus on Monday 29th April and arrived on 2nd of May. 

영국 신학과 철학 도서관 협희로부터 감사하게도 £1,000 (한화 약 165만원)을 마련하여 2024년 1월에 UETS 도서관에 첫 배송을 시작하고자 합니다. 현재 3명의 자원봉사가 열심히 기부할 책들을 목록화 하는 작업을 하고 있습니다. 이 목록이 UETS 도서관 사서에게 전해지면 그 도서관에 필요한 도서들만 선별하여 저희에게 선택목록을 이메일로 보내줍니다. 이 선택목록에 따라 요청된 책만들 포장해서 우크라이나로 보내는 것이 저희 단체의 사업입니다. 이 UETS 도서관은 저희에게서 받은 기증도서를 우크라이나 다른 소재의 신학 도서관에도 배송해서 나누려는 계획을 갖고 있습니다. 이를 위해서는 더욱 많은 배송비가 절실하게 필요합니다.   

진행

1. 첫 배송: 20박스 총 308권이 2024년 2월 3일 동런던에 배송처에 직접 운전해서 전달했습니다.  그리하여 2월 29일에 키에브 신학 대학교 도서관에 무사하게 다 도착하였습니다. 
2. 두번째 배송: 4박스 총 79권이 2024년 3월 11일에 위클리프홀에서 미니버스 운전배살기사님이 직접 가지러 오셨습니다. 3월 14일 도서관에 무사하게 도착하였습니다.
3. 세번째 배송: 총 6권의 박스에 104권의 책이 두번째 배송한 미니버스에 실려 4월 29일 위클리프 홀에서 출발하여 키에브 도서관에 5월 2일에 무사하게 도착하였습니다.
